More than 30 local businesses gathered at our first Breakfast Club of 2015 on 29 January to hear our guest speaker, Tchad Western, Corporate Fundraiser for The Children’s Hospital Charity, tell us the story of Sheffield Children’s Hospital.
We were honoured to be able to present a donation to The Children’s Hospital Charity of £1000 from Inox Dine and Halifax Hall.
The money was raised by inviting diners to donate to the charity by offering to pay for their table water. Halifax Hall hotel also sold sweets at their reception desk, and fundraising by the UNICUS team together with the University’s finance team also contributed to our total. The money will support The Children’s Hospital Charity’s ‘Buy a Room’ campaign. It costs £25,000 to furnish each private room for children receiving vital care.
Blanche Spataro, Restaurant Manager commented: “We are delighted that our first networking event of the year was well supported and that so many people gathered to hear the amazing story of the Sheffield Children’s Hospital, one of only four specialist children’s hospitals in the UK. Tchad also shared with us his expertise in personality type testing, and how it can help identify your strengths and weaknesses in business.”
